Hello & Welcome!

Hello & Welcome!

Hello & Welcome to my blog! I’m so happy you’re here.

Oh gosh, where to even start?

Well, let’s see. As I sit here, my rather large cat, Arnold is perched on my lap. This is his general location each evening after I get home from work. It’s especially nice this time of year as he’s a personal heater in the chilly Minnesota winter, but somewhat hampers my ability to sit properly in my chair. My back is starting to hurt.

Ok, slight shift in position, much better. I’m Audrey Louise, a designer & maker of things. Lots of things. Some good, some not so good. As of yet. I’ve been a professional experimenter. I’ve tried my hand at sewing, jewelry making, drawing, painting, knitting, macrame, upholstery, and some minimal woodworking. My day job is as a graphic designer at a small design firm located within a larger printing company. I design packaging, marketing materials, website design and we work on branding & identity for small businesses. I love designing for clients, but my studio is where I like to get my hands dirty.

My boyfriend and I own a small house together. We purchased it last spring and have since ripped up carpeting, painted, took out a fireplace and then painted some more. We have plans for lots more down the line.

This blog is a way for me to chronicle my story, and tell someone else about it. I read and am inspired by so many individuals who keep and maintain interesting blogs, I thought it high time to experiment with yet another medium: the blogosphere.

So, welcome. Thanks for stopping by, and please check back in from time to time. Hopefully I’ll be doing something interesting 🙂

Ha, I’m sorry Arnie! I know you’re working on it…

And as far as the boyfriend goes, maybe he’ll get an intro post on here one of these days!
